Hi Roger

I have not had time to return to my search since the last post so have not looked at this in any detail yet.   I will, however, check my notes and indeed if not already eliminated will look at it again.

Many thanks.

Hi again

thank you for all this work.  I do appreciate it.

I have seen the Richard Watkins baptism in Llandyssil and cannot dismiss it, if for no other reason than Susannah (or Susan) is a consistent naming convention of daughters on this family line up to and including my grandmother's generation (as are John, Charlotte, William and Richard).
I need to get back to searching those parish records again.

Yes, sadly I am led to believe the 1861 census return for Bromlow is missing.  The 1851 census gives Worthen as his place of birth and the marriage certificate "Hemford Lane" (the same for his bride, Elizabeth Perkin).

I have just uncovered another possible record for the father John Watkin.   A John Watkin, widower and labourer, married Sarah Bromley, spinster in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant Dec 25th 1847.   Her address at the time was "village" presumably Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant and his Priddbwll, Llansilin.   Although no further forward in terms of elimination or not as I cannot find them at the moment post the marriage! I think she was the daughter of William Bromley labourer and his wife Margaret.   There is a baptism in Llanrhaiadr Ym Mochnant on 2nd Mar 1828.

In answer to the question re marriage, Richard Watkin married at the Chapel of Hope in Worthen parish, Shropshire an Elizabeth Perkin.  Date - June 1st 1847.  They settled in the Bromlow area raising their family.
In answer to the question re sister Jane, I cannot be certain that this is accurate.   As per the last post on this, I too have seen the 1841 census for John Watkin, his wife Anne Davies etc living Llanfihangel.   John married Anne in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Montgomeryshire 2 years earlier.   It is a strong possibility that this is indeed the correct John Watkin, however, I cannot be certain without further evidence of which the birth/baptism for Richard or Jane would be a real help.
As for Richard himself, again there is a census return in 1841 for "Richard Watkin, Boot Boy" on the High Street, Llanfyllin which I believe could be correct.
Many thanks for the feedback thus far.

Trying to trace the parents/siblings of John Thomas born Vaynor circa 1799.  He married in 1829 in Vaynor a Mary Phillips who we believe originated from Cayo in Camarthenshire.

Any assistance gratefully received.

Pembrokeshire / Morris Family of Llanllawer
« on: Tuesday 04 September 12 17:59 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help with a baptism record for either a Stephen or a David Morris of Llanllawer both between 1790 and 1795.   David went on to marry in Brawdy a Lydia Richards in 1822 living in the Roch area and working as an ag lab all his remaining life; Stephen married we believe a Sarah John of Wiston although unable to find a record of this to date.  He lived in Haverfordwest St Martin working as a maltster.

Any assistance with this gratefully received.

Thanks for the response.   I have already seen the revjones transcriptions and unfortunately I cannot be sure the Elizabeth Moody shown in the burial register is the one I am seeking.  I need to x-ref with baptism records.

Thanks also for the other information.   A little of it was known to me but until i can crack the Elizabeth Moody link, i cannot be sure which branch of the Moody family is that which i need to investigate further.

Regards
