Thank you for posting this.  Sadly no upstairs connections but an aunt of my late mother-in-law was a cook at Aitkenhead House and her husband worked as a coachman.  isk

Thank you all so much. The one thing we must not lose is a sense of humour. As I said to a young, in the Wine & Spirits aisle this morning ' Did no one ever explain 'NEVER to get between a woman and her bottle of red wine'.  Happy to bring that and I do have haggis, neeps and tatties.  Keep safe and well isk

Scotland / Philomena Stew
« on: Saturday 07 March 20 17:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hello.  I am looking to find information about the family of Philomena Stew, married to James Bradley.
She was born in Bridgeton, Glasgow in 1925.  She was a twin, sister's name Audrey.  There are no entries for the name Stew in the 1911 census.  Much earlier, in the 1700s, the name Stew appears in Perthshire and then seems to disappear.  I would be obliged for any information or at least a steer in the right direction.  Thank you isk

Hello and I wonder if anyone can help me with the names of the parents of Kenneth Murdo Macaulay who died in Queensland, probably Brisbane in 1971.  If this is too recent please advise.  Thank you in advance.  isk
