Can anyone decipher the top two names on this image for a friend in Australia. I get that the first begins with D but the second looks like Jagoe or Sagoe to me and I know they are both wrong.

Thank you for looking  :)

South Africa / Re: Charles Edmund Bright b.1881

Thank you all for the responses to this query, I have been very lax in responding, not just this but to many others elsewhere. I suffer ill health but that should never be an excuse for my laxity and I apologise to all.

There is news on Charles Edmund Bright:
He sailed to SA not with his family as I was first informed but as a serving soldier:

Name: C E Bright
Campaign or Service: South Africa - Second Boer War
Service Date: 1899-1902
Service Location: South Africa
Regiment or Unit Name: 8th Hussars
Regimental Number: 3242

Whilst there he married Miss Bella White fathered several children. On his return to England with his Regiment he tasked someone (probably a fellow soldier) with sending a telegram to Bella stating he had fallen overboard at sea and drowned.

His SA descendants believe he did marry a second wife named Elizabeth but I cannot discover a record for this marriage.

In England he married once more on 7th December 1915 to a Miss Nora Gilmour and fathered two more children:
John H Bright
Mollie Bright

...he served once again during the First War and died peacefully(?) at home in Yorkshire in 1927

Hi All,
This is a picture of my Mum and Dad on their wedding day. It has got a bit damaged because it has been in the sunlight for a while. I've cleaned it up as best I can but I would love some kind person to colourise it and freshen it up a little.
Thank you in anticipation  :)

Family Bibles / Completed !! The Davies of Loughborough Bible reunited
« on: Thursday 14 February 13 13:06 GMT (UK)  »
I'm finally admitting defeat :-\

I bought this bible in a second hand bookshop in Coventry.  I have been trying to locate descendants of the original family but they appear to have all died out or possibly emigrated. I would appreciate any help in locating any direct or indirect descendant so that I may return it to the family if at all possible.

What I know of the family is here: http://loughborodavies.tribalpages.com
