GNU,

I have just obtained the marriage document for Hugh and Catherine and he was born in County Derry and not County Donegal.  I obtained the document through Scotland's People and the document is MP 56 1 4 1 11.  I just didn't want you too have the wrong info.  Thanks.

Hi Rob,

I happen to have the birth certificate of Jane McMahon born to John and Rose.  Do you have it?  Do you want it?

Bleckie,

Thanks for your reply but that marriage was for John Blair and Jean Dun.  This couldn't be John's parents as they had a son John but he died at an early age and then they had another John in 1802.  I appreciate your efforts!

I am looking for information regarding John Blair, DOB unknown and Christian Dun, born in Glasgow 23 Aug 1774.  In particular, I am looking for any details regarding their children and of John Blair's date and place of birth and of their marriage date.  I know that they had a son, John Blair, born in Killearn, Stirling on 24 Jul 1794.  Many thanks for any provided details.

Canada / Sgt Harold McMahon
« on: Tuesday 06 November 12 19:18 GMT (UK)  »
The following entry appeared in the Niagara Falls New York Gazette - Thursday September 25th 1947 regarding the marriage of my Grandfather, John McMahon, to Cora Cust.

"McMahon - Cust

The marriage of Mrs Cora Cust and Mr John McMahon was recently solemnized at Our Lady of Lebanon.
Bride was given in marriage by her nephew Mr Harold McMahon of Barrie. Ontario."

Harold McMahon is not related to John McMahon.

There was another mention of Harold in the Niagara Falls New York Gazette on Wednesday November 1st 1944.

"Sergeant Harold McMahon and Mrs. McMahon left last night for Camp Gordon, Ont, after spending Sergeant McMahon's ten-day leave with his aunt, Mrs. Cora Cust of Memorial Parkway."

The Camp's name is actually, Camp Borden which is near Barrie, Ontario.  I am looking for information regarding Sgt Harold McMahon such as his date and place of birth.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sandra,

Thank you again.  I will have some more research to do on my step-grandmother but not much.  I now know more about her than I do about most of the relatives in my direct line.  Kindest regards!

Sandra,

You are truly amazing!  I believe that Sgt Harold McMahon should be Sgt Hugh McMahon and they would be going to Camp Borden, Ontario.  Your last post refers to my mother, Mrs. Alastair Blair.  I was typing this reply when you added the marriage announcement. Thanks again.
