Well I received my Grandmothers birth certificate today, as my Great Grandmothers name was a mystery, and now after five hours of searching I have hit a brick wall again I can't find a birth or marriage, on the 1901 census she's called Emily, on the 1911 she's called Maud.

The birth certificate of my Grandmother Alice May Andrews says her Father is Philip Griffith Andrews(already knew this by the census) and her Mother is Maud Ward.

By the census it says Maud Ward was born 1870 Dover Kent.  ::) ???

Need help researching the Holt family, I have hit a brick wall with John Holt who is my 4th great grandfather, born 1787 I think Bury? He married peggy chadwick on the 02/02/1809 at St Mary the Virgin, Bury and went on to have six sons, I have found he's death in 1827 in Bury, It's says he was killed, I don't know how he was killed, so the information I need is hes parents or how he was killed.

thanks jim1, i will keep that in mind as on the 1881 census Mary Beech/Beach is Frederick's step daughter and not hes niece, because he married Eliza Beach in 1872 but sadly she passed away in 1879 and he become a widower again

Hi,

LHB's  mother was Annie Henderson Hendry and her brother was my friends great grandfather, only Annie and her brother John stayed in England, rest of the Hendry family moved to America.
