Warwickshire / Re: St Peter's Church, Coventry

Hi
I have just seen your post about St Peters Church.  It is actually for sale at the present time having been made into apartments, so I presume the gravestones will be left where they are.

The last time I visited the Family Centre in Coventry's central library there were quite a few records there from St Peters, so that could be a starting point.

Best regards

Hi Ricky
Yes, Samuel was George's son from his 1st marriage and Minnie was Sarah's illegitimate daughter, Minnie was my greatgrandmother.

After George and Sarah married they went on to have Edward.  I have always been under the impression that he was the only son but a descendent of his has contacted me to say that she has a letter from Sarah to Edward which refers to Edward's brother.  This is why I was checking to see if I had missed someone.  I now presume she must have meant Samuel.

Thanks for your help
Gloria

Hi Ricky
That's what I didn't know. I was hoping that there would just be someone else there.

I have always thought that Edward was the only son [apart from a much older half-brother] but another family member has come across an old letter that refers to Edward's brother so we thought that there could have been another son.

Never mind, thanks for your help

Berkshire / Re: Rance marriage
« on: Monday 15 September 08 08:33 BST (UK)  »
I already have him on the 1901 census and have found a possible marriage for him to Nora E Beesley in the march qtr of 1925 at Wokingham but have nothing else.  He was the elder brother of my grandmother and only came to light when looking for her family on the 1901 census, she never mentioned him at all.  She only ever acknowledged her younger sister and two brothers
I would really like to find out if he had any family so any info you can find to help would really be appreciated. I am not anywhere near to Wokingham so cannot do any local research at all which is what is probably needed.

Many thanks

Hi
Many thanks for the reply.   Yes I would love any info you have on the Yerward family.  My grandfather, born in Pembroke in 1903 was John Yerward Simon.  The Yerward was after one of his maternal grandmother's Ellen, daughter of Levi Yerward.
My email address is glorialee@hotmail.co.uk.  I will look out all the info I have on the Yerwards, which isn't much I'm afraid but I will send you what I have.

Best regards
