Thank you for your replies. In 1925 a relative was listed as being born there. His name was John Wallis and his father was Charles Herbert Wallis. The mother Sadie Allerton was also listed at this address. I know she had been a housekeeper at some point and may be in 1925 she was a housekeeper there ??

Sorry if confusing
The initial information was given to me as hearsay and I am trying to establish whether it is correct or not. The post after your one states that there are a few cuttings for G E Pownall. The dates are earlier than the bith of G H Pownall so perhaps the hearsay related to his father GEP.
