Ok...a few people have read this which is great, thank you.

It seems Alexander's passing is a wee bit hard to find as is his wife.

I am now hoping that someone may be able to find records for their children. I only have their birth/bap. Anything besides that would be fabulous.

George Lessells
1747 – 1819

Elizabeth Lessells
1749 –

John Lessells
1752 –

Isobel Lessells
1754 –

Cecilia Lessells
1757 –

Many thanks

I cannot find the death of Alexander nor his wife Mary. I do not know who is parents are however I believe Mary's father was William SHORT. I suspect they both may have passed in Beath as that is where their children were born but that is a guess.

Many thanks in advance

Norfolk / Help please to find birth place/date of Sarah CORKE and Samuel GRICE

G'day folks

Trying to find without much luck some info on my GGG Grandmother Sarah CORKE born abt 1785 possibly in Norfolk.

Sarah CORKE married Samuel GRICE in 1806 in Smallburgh, Norfolk, England in 1808. I can only find one child from this marriage, Ann GRICE born in 1808.

Any info on the GRICE or CORKE families would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

G'day Steve

I think your Hugh BALDWIN and my Hugh BALDWIN are two different gents. I am fairly confident that mine is English. Although they share the same occupation - cordwainer I think that where the similarities end.

My Hugh married an Elizabeth NIBLOW in England.

Good luck with your searching.

Cheers

G'day Yokel

Thank you for the clarification. I don't have a very good geographic head when it comes to matters of England being from Australia. Your posting now looks very promising, I will definitely chase it up - thank you :)

Yorklass in regards to the two people you posted in 1854 and 1856, the first I have since found is a baby girl which died the same year as George 's death. Jesse briefly mentions in his memoir that his mother couldn't cope with the death of her husband; I don't know how or why the child died but it was a baby (poor little thing).

The second is Jesse's baptism which for what ever reason being, he was not baptized earlier. Perhaps it was due to his fathers death that mother was prompted to do something about it.

Thank you both for your input.

Cheers

G'day Yokel

Thanks for the posting however I don't think it is him. There does not appear to be any association with this area of Norfolk with him or his family the family plus George was 41 when he died.

I wont discount it though and will look into it further.

Kind regards
Tern
