It might be best to try another browser, as I said I use Firefox but it doesn't show any images. But in Chrome it is fine.
What do you use?
I have never signed in or joined.

The Common Room / Re: Help save Worcestershire Archives!
« on: Sunday 03 February 19 16:38 GMT (UK)  »

Purely personally, I have not added to the petition because I have no family reason to search the Worcs archive, tho I can understand why users of this forum might think I should.  I did back the People's Vote campaign because I saw a personal interest in staying in the EU - but that's another topic, which used to be hot but seems to get steadily cooler.  Better not go there.  ::)

Is that not rather a selfish reason for not signing? I would have thought that as a family historian like the rest of us you would think saving any resources would be in everyones best interest even if you don't have need for that resource yourself.

My Grandfathers sister died 9 December just before she was due to get married. She was buried in her wedding dress.

Family History Beginners Board / Cannot find death ref
« on: Thursday 26 October 17 12:12 BST (UK)  »
I am searching for the reference to order the death certificate of my GGG Grandfather ISAAC ASTON. I have his burial from the parish register of Tipton St Martin Staffordshire 12th April 1846 age 55 which allowing for ages being rounded down on the 1841 census and the location of the burial plus he is stated as deceased on the marriage of his daughter in 1850 I am pretty sure I have the right one. The only Isaac Aston showing on GRO is age 19 [b1827] who I have found on the 1841 census living in Tipton. I have tried searching with all 3 name variations on GRO website, I have tried with just surname, both male and female but no result. Any help would be appreciated.

If you click on the link UK Government Web Archive it opens a page where you can search.

Hope that helps.

If you go here https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills and type in the name you are interested in you will see the same info as will be on Ancestry. The actual will is not shown, you have to send for that, not sure of cost as I have not sent for 1 for a while. The gov website & Ancestry only show an index to the wills.

Hope that helps.
