Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / Re: John Flowerdew Cutting
« on: Sunday 04 September 05 14:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi Rick:
Thanks for your interest and help.
We're digging into this deeper and now think we've found three John Cuttings:
(1) John Flowerdew Cutting now thought to be born in Hoxne around 1842.
(2) John Flowerdew Cutting possibly born in Bacton around 1820-1825.
(3) John (unknown) Cutting possibly born in Cotton around 1800.
We don't know whether these are directly related (e.g. as father, son and grandfather or in some other way) or not and have been told that there were also one or more John Flowerdews in the 1800s so wonder if the families were related.
Any light you could shed would be most appreciated.
Many thanks.
Andrew

Thanks Debbie.  Yes, this certainly helps.  I'm new to the topic of online genealogy and could use some advice.  Of the various internet subscription service, which one is reckoned to be the best for accessing births, marriages and deaths information for rural England ?
Thanks again.  Andrew

Dorset / Selina Flew of Portland.

Can anyone help me locate my gandmother Selina Flew born on Portland in Wakeham or Southwell around 1890, married Joseph Cutting in 1911, lived in Easton  and died in 1963.  Selina had at least one sister Marion who married (new name unknown) and lived in Fortuneswell at least until the early 1960s.  I'm interested in finding out about her parents and also her siblings and their descendents.
Thanks.

Suffolk Completed Lookup Requests / John Flowerdew CUTTING
« on: Saturday 04 June 05 23:52 BST (UK)  »
Can any kind person help me locate my great grandfather John  Flowerdew Cutting born in Stowmarket around 1840, married in Stowmarket to Susan Stevens and had their first child born there, and then moved to Portland Dorset where he died young in about 1900?  I understand that Cutting was/is a common name in those parts and that the full name as above was not unique.  I'm particularly interested in locating the correct John Flowerdew, determing who his siblings were and locating their decendents.
Thanks.
