Wexford / Re: Atkin Family, Wexford ... grave inscriptions
« on: Sunday 05 February 23 22:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Walter who died in Ontario was the brother of my 4th great grandmother, Mary Atkin. The Gore listed furthur back in this thread, who died 1823, I don't currently have record of how he fits into our tree. Our line has Gore Atkin who died 1786 in county Wexford.

Have you seen the pictures of Gore Atkin and his brother Samuel both of Ontario here?: https://www.ancientfaces.com/photo/mr-mrs-gore-atkin/358588

Are you related?

Hi

Could you confirm if this is picture from the 1920's? Or earlier? Taken in Southern Africa.

Thank you

Hello Poirot

Thank you so much for connecting with us. Could you look up Rev. John Robert Thompson Hawksley (Methodist Minister) and Isaac Linney (Lay Methodist Minister and father-in-law of Robert)? And any others with that last name.

Regards
Jenni

Hello

I am looking for opinions regards picture labeled "is this Eliza Magee". I believe she is a young Eliza Magee who was born December 1820 and died January 1900. The picture in question is labeled by family as either Mrs Henry Douglas or Grandmother (which would be Eliza Magee).

The family lived just outside of Killeshandra, Cavan, Ireland and were at one time well to do. Also with this set of pictures is Eliza's sister Mary Jane McBride nee Magee. Mary Jane was born May 1823 and died September 1901 in New York, USA.

Thoughts? Is the dress of the younger girl in correct fashion sequence to be a younger Eliza (I'm guessing by 20 years?)?

Thank you
Jenni

Armagh / Re: Capper family

Hi Wayne

Did you get my message? Inbox me your email or if you are on Facebook - join the group North Armagh Family History. Look up Bev Capper - she knows the Capper family really well. If you aren't on FB, then send me your email and I can get you in touch. What I have from her shows that Thomas born 1822 is from Waringstown, she does not seem to have record of what happened to him - you are a promising lead!  Anything to show your Thomas was associated with the Methodist Church?

Wexford / Re: 1840s DUBLIN Ireland MORRISON'S
« on: Monday 09 January 17 02:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Rev Morrisson's father was Benjamin Morrisson. From Belfast Newsletter Tuesday 7 May 1867-

May 3, Mr Benjamin Morrisson, Portadown, father of the Rev. S G Morrison, of Dublin, aged 65 years.

I suspect that Benjamin also had a son named Benjamin Morrisson who married Martha Cave of Lurgan, Armagh. They had 7 children, none of whom seem to have survived passed 1911 (if the census record for the couple is correct.). They had 3 sons named Benjamin, a son William and another named Robert. Still searching for the others. Martha Cave is my relative via marriage.
