I was just going to post that I used that phone number! Great result! I must admit I found the person I talked to charming. As you say if you don't ask, you don't get  ;)

I telephoned Ancestry last Monday morning, a few days after my Premium membership expired, I had been using the link for the last 5 years. I asked if they would match the price (not saying how I got it) the lady I spoke to was charming, she checked my account and offered me the same price, no questions! So very happy!

The same happened to me in Feb, I had a continuing 6 monthly sub at £19.45. They sent me a letter stating it would go up to £31.50! I rang them and they offered me £20.45 as a new subscriber. I would certainly give them a ring Carol, the person I spoke to was quite pleasant.

Hi

This picture is of 2 of the sons of my Husbands GG Grandfather, he had 2 that were in the Police and 2 that were Prison Warders.

Can anyone identify and confirm that these 2 were the Prison Warders? The picture would of been taken approx. 1890's. They were both at HMP Wandsworth and one of them was the Principal/Chief Warder (one on left has braided collar and sleeve?)

Sadly there is nothing written on the back.

very grateful for any help
Chris

Had this message last week and emailed them, they got back to me after a couple of days and cleared it, now today it is back! Also saying I have hints when I haven't...drives me mad! ::)

Hi Tony
I live in the Deepings and today had a look at the Headstone for you, it is pretty worn but I managed to make out the following:-

In Memory of
William Baker
Who Died Dec 15th 1854
Aged 77 Years
Also
Elizabeth Baker
Wife of the above
Who Died Dec ??
Aged 46 Years

I'm certain it said Elizabeth (although it was very faint) and not Susannah and the date and year of her death is unreadable.

There is a Headstone next to it of an Elizabeth Ann Baker and in front is a Headstone with Benjamin Baker and William Baker (these are also in unreadable condition)...could these be same family?

Hope this info helps
With regards
Chris
