Hi Andy

Thank you for your reply.  We have been researching the Murrison family for years so have quite a blanket of information and you are right Morrison, Murrison doesnt make it easy.

Our is the James Murrison  who marries Margaret Watson and we can not find either of their baptisms.  However for Margaret with other members of the family giving us clues, we have been able to trace her parents and carry on back.  Our James Murrison is a seaman too,  we are wondering whether he died at sea hence we can not find his death.

Here is our email address (*)

In the meantime we will go through our info and when we have your email address will get back to you to see if we can help.

Kind regards

Debbie and Graham Merry

Hi Andy

Yes I still am doing my research and James Murrison is proving to be a mystery.  What James Murrison are you trying to trace because there are a few in this area.  ie what is his date of birth, who did he marry and we can see if there is a connection.

If we match by all means I am happy to share any information I have.

Regards

Debbie

I am the GG grand daughter of Margaret Watson who married James Murrison on 13 September 1849 in Peterhead.  Margaret is really giving me the round around as I just can't seem to locate her or her parents, you havent come across her by any chance whilst carrying out your research?.  The words "Big Brick Wall" comes to mind.  :(

Well I have managed to solve this mystery, only taken me 12 years but I got there.  So the moral is don't give up :)

Hi Carole

Thank you for your reply

The witnesses on the marriage certificate were Walter Ware and Mary Homar.  The latter I have done some research on and on the 1901 Census she is living at 58 Maidstone Street where the Ware family were living.  Mary Homar is born in Hackney and the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Homar.  On the 1881 Census the family are living at 53 North Street, Hackney.  I haven't been able to find a family connection and believe me I have searched  :)

London and Middlesex / GREEN FAMILY FROM BETHNAL GREEN LONDON
« on: Monday 27 February 17 18:01 GMT (UK)  »
I have been searching for information on the above Green family for over 20 years without much luck but determined not to give up. I am trying to find a William Green who on his marriage certificate to Elizabeth Ware (St Pauls Church in the district of Haggerston) on 28 June 1896 is aged 26, a bachelor, occupation traveller, living at 44 Maidstone Street and his Father is James Green a Coal Merchant.  By the 1901 Census William Green is living at 67 Maidstone Street, Haggerston aged 27 (anomaly), occupation General Labourer and born in Bethnal Green.  Can't find him on the 1911 census or a death certificate but by 1914 his wife Elizabeth re-marries to a James Edwards.
I would be truly delighted and grateful to hear from anyone who perhaps has information on this family and had more success than I.

I too am trying to find out where the surname Baulf comes from, once again I was thinking it might be German does anyone have any ideas please?  The Baulfs are in Greenwich in the mid 1700s-1800s  and two on the War Memorial in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

I have found a Seaman ticket number (195141) for one of my ancestors a James Murrison born 1826 in Pitsligo working out of Peterhead.  Can anyone tell me what this ticket is, where I could view the entry and also whether it would hold any information regarding him?

Many thanks

Aberdeenshire Lookup Requests / James Murrison 1851 Census
« on: Thursday 05 January 06 16:36 GMT (UK)  »
I would be most grateful if anyone has access to the 1851 Census.  I am looking for a James Murrison aged 50, wife Margaret aged 50 and possibly a couple of children who might still be there - Isabell aged 15 and Margaret aged 11.

Many thanks

Debbie
