Thank you so much, thats brilliant and thank you for splitting them for me, wonderful.

Are my eyes playing up or does that look as though Henry has a patch on his cheek below his eye ?

Hi, is there any chance you could lighten this photo. Its my only photo of my Great Nana standing next to her husband my Great Grandad but i cant really see the faces and wondered if you could help ? Its the woman on her own and her husband i'm really interested in, not the two ladies together.

Durham / Darlington Cycle Club - 1930s - Spartan Wheelers
« on: Monday 19 March 12 21:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, does anybody have any information or any idea of where to look for a Cycle Club that used to be in Darlington, Co Durham. I,m guessing about 1930ish and I believe the name was The Spartan Wheelers. If possible I'd love to find a members list or something with my Grandads name on it. He was very good and received prizes for winning his races. I,m not certain about the name but that's what my Mum believes it was called.

Many thanks

Hi Suz, thanks for that info, i checked it out and ordered the death cert and yep its definatly her. xx
Alberta and Henry had, to my knowledge 4 children - Frank Allen , my grandad, born Mar 1906 in Liverpool, Kathleen born sept 1910 in Norwich, Gordon born 1917 in Hatfield and Horace who i havn't come across yet ! I have the birth certs for the 3 children. Alberta and Henry are named on all of them. Using the certificates can i find out any more info on Alberta like her parents or where she was born etc ?  I now have a rough idea of the year she was born, 1876, but no idea where ?As you can see they moved about a fair bit.

Thank you to every body else who came back to me with suggestions, i'm working my way through them.

My Great Nana, Alberta Allen nee Wright died on 15th April 1928 whilst living at 201 Houghton Road - the brewery i believe as it was at the time  - as her husband Henry Allen was the Mineral Water Manufacturing Foreman at the time. We believe she is buried in the north road cemetry, does anybody know which site or who i would need to contact to try and find if this is the case ?

Also, could anybody point me in the right direction to find information about the brewery at that time. I have tried and failed so miserably  :(

I know so little about her - i have her death but not even her birth - as they seemed to have move about so often and after 1901 are not in any census that i can find.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated  ;D
