Yip, Annie was the product of an unmarried relationship!

When Joseph cunnington married in 1907 his wife was called Mary. They had my nana Agnes in 1910 and Maurice in 1914 (died 1936). Joseph died in 1914 but....... My nana had "1 brother and 1 sister" who were born in 1918 and 1920. Mary met someone to have children but not to marry or put on the birth cert. times don't change! It does seem that the cunningtons are the "interesting" part of my wider family

hi Tilly

found ur message when i was searching for Finkey Lane on google because..... my great grandad was Joseph Cross Cunnington (b 1880) between Thomas Cunnington and Frances Susannah. He is your relative's brother.

thomas was married (his wife died in 1873) before he met Frances. You are right in that she then quickly married William once Thomas died. Thomas was 27 years older than Frances. She had a baby when she was 20 and unmarried (annie Maria)

I dont have photos but I do have census records if you want. Also the cunnington family is part of my family tree which is accessible on the net - if you let me have ur email I can set you up.

Joseph married in 1907 and his first child was my nana - a wonderful lady. He died in 1914. They settled in middlesbrough

regards
Paul
