Many thanks for all your replies.
I am puzzled in the time around William Harris Lill's christening. The census for 1881 was taken on the 3 April and shows Charlotte and Samuel Harris in Deal. The christening of William Harris Lill is on the 18 Sept 1881.She married Richard Wraight Crickett on the27 Feb 1882 and is a widow.I cannot find Samuel Harris's death in this period. Could it have been suicide?

He was born 25 Aug 1881 (1939 Register),and the 1911 Deal census seems he was born in Eastry (Eastry written over Deal ?).I cannot find him in any earlier census or indeed his birth record. The earliest record I have found is his marriage in Deal to Millie Riley in 1906.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leicestershire / Whattons in the 1851 census Leicester
« on: Saturday 23 December 23 07:04 GMT (UK)  »
In the 1841 census for Thurmaston Joseph and Mary are shown in the household of George and Sarah Felstead.
In the 1851 census for Leicester St Margaret they are in the same household,Joseph is described as son-in-law,mar,age 18.Mary Whatton is described as dau, mar, age 15.
This all seems very puzzling and unlikely as I am sure Mary Whatton married Joseph Rowe in 1853 (they later emigrated to the USA ).
