Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1841 Census Atherton (Chowbent), BROWN

My G.G.Grandfather, John Brown was born in Chowbent about 1827 or 1828. According to his marriage cert. (1857 in Manchester) his father was Peter Brown, a mason.
I have found John in the following census:
1861 in Ardwick, Manchester, a porter, age 34
1871 in Weston, Cheshire, labourer in quarry and pensioner, age 44
1881 at Royal Hospital, Chelsea, in-pensioner, age 54
1901 at Royal Hospital, age 73
He died 22 Nov. 1901 at age 74
I looked in the 1851 census for Atherton (Chowbent) and did not find John or Peter so presume the family had moved on by then.
The IGI has a John Brown born in Chowbent 12 March 1828, if this him, I am looking for the following family in 1841:
Peter Brown head
Alice Brown wife
James Brown son 19
Alice Brown daur 17
John Brown son 13 or 14
Margaret Brown daur 8
