Hi Mark
I've found you on my husbands match list ! He has 3 matches with Crockford as a surname in their tree
I'm sure Lydia must be a sister or close relative of my husbands Phillip who was born in 1790 . I have his father and grand father but can't connect then to Lydia

Oh and yes that Lydia is the one in the tree of my husbands DNA match.
Getting a match that has names and locations in common makes it easier to define how you are related to the match (along with the amount of DNA you share) It would appear that you are also related to my husband!

Unfortunately that's not my man. He died in New Zealand in 1913.

Unfortunately no fathers names on the marriage certificate but I should have mentioned that his residence at the time of marriage was Lisodart. I looked at the wills but I dont think they are the same family. One had a son Stewart but no mention that the son was in New Zealand yet he mentions a daughter in America.
Family stories say he was a gardener for the Stewart family but I have no proof of this

Ive been hunting for ages for the parents of my 3x Great Grandfather Stewart Rea (often spelled WRAY)
He was born c1836 and married at Erugal Keerogue, Church of Ireland in 1877 to Margaret Wishart (spelled Wishard in the Civil Registration index.

The family immigrated to New Zealand with George Vessey Stewarts Party in 1875 and died in Katikati New Zealand in 1913. No records in New Zealand mention parents names.
Id appreciate any help anyone can offer.  Thanks

Hello Im trying to find details on the Crockford Family of Waltham St Lawrence.
My husband has a DNA match to a descendant of Lydia CROCKFORD born c1792 and my husband descends from Philip CROCKFORD born c1790.
THe DNA match would suggest perhaps Lydia and Philip were brother and sister or 1st cousins at the most distant.
While I can find marriages for both, I can not find their births to prove their relationship.
I have been unable to find parish records online and live in New Zealand so visiting a records office is not possible so Id appreciate any info anyone has on this family
Thanks
Regards
Lauren

Thanks yes ive ordered Simon's will. and am waiting for it.  The blog is mine .  I wrote it then thought  further  and realised I could be wrong.
I have  all the  census returns for the area and no Salt surname appears. Most are there  through multiple census  returns.  Tithe map appears to be the  next option.  But the land award for  1785 seems the ideal next step as that covers  Davids time.  Sadly I'll have no time for research in records offices when I visit so I'll have to do it remotely   Thanks
