This is unusual, the husband George - does not have any occupation listed but the wife Martha does, they are listed on the end of the page. It may be related to weaving.

All I can now see is - Stone Bares - which makes no sense whatsoever.

Anyone else have any suggestions - I think the S may be an I

5 Elizabeth b1642 Alton, Ross on Wye m Charles Williams

With regards to Lydia Lowe, I have not determined which William Markey she actually married, because all records just say she was the widow of William Markey when she married Charles Hoskyns.

The Markey, Abrahall and Hoskyns and Bourne and Kyrle families interconnect on several occasions, as was the want of rich families to keep lands within family domains. Lydia's sister Jane married John Hoskyns.

Benedicta's half sisters from her mothers first marriage to Francis Bourne (Benedicta Bourne nee Moyle) - Francis and Elizabeth both married into Hoskyns family.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I've just found my Markey relations - which include a lot of british aristocracy via Benedicta Hoskins (lots of Baronets and Earls).

so what I can tell you direct lineage going backwards

James Markey b1695 Taynton, Gloucs = Mary Read b1692 Taynton, Gloucs

William Markey b1636 Alton, Herefordshire = Elizabeth Smyth b1654 Almeley, Herefordshire (2nd wife)

John Markey, Esq b1606 Alton, Herefordshire = Benedicat Hoskyns b1610 Morehampton, Herefordshire

Sir John Markey b1580 Alton, Herefordshire = Lady Syble Kyrle b1570 Walford, Herefordshire

Hope this helps

Lincolnshire / Lincs to the past archives

Hi, it's Sunday and I am trying to access the above website. Everything I put in the "advanced search" comes back with a Nil return. Does anyone know if this website is currently down?

I have used it before and I was transcribing some of the text for Stamford All Saints birth, marriage and death records.

Maybe I'm just not inputting the correct info to get a return?

I tried just Stamford, then Stamford All Saints, then just mar (for marriage), then birth etc and I get nothing. I tried in capitals and lower case, I tried with quotation marks either side, then a star either side and still nothing.

Can anyone help?

Shropshire / Price and Hughes Families in Shropshire
« on: Thursday 09 August 12 13:53 BST (UK)  »
I have been trying to find a connection between our family tree and Olwen Elizabeth Price (b1907, West Felton).

My late mother in law said that Olwen was connected via her Aunt Jane Lloyd Parrock (b1870, Oswestry) who married Seth Hughes (b1863,  Ruthin, Denbighshire), their son Seth (b1908, Wrexham, Denbighshire) married Mable Watkin Price (b1914,  Llangollen, Merionethshire).

However I have yet to find the family connection between Mable and Olwen. It might be that the connection is not through the Price family but the Hughes (which I have also not been able to find).

If anyone may have these relatives in their trees and wouldn't mind sharing their information I would be most grateful.
