Hi looking for information on a great gran uncle who was born in Derry City in 1882. I believe that he was married in Dublin in 1919 to a Lily Roberts and was serving in the British Army. He moved with his wife to Dunbarton Scotland. I think he passed away in or near Dunbarton in 1958. My aunt remembers as a young girl going to stay with them and another aunt was over for her honeymoon. I think they had a daughter whom was also called Lily.

Any help would be gratefully received

Dave many thanks for your reply and the research you have done to help me contact Ellas descendants.

I would like to thank them as i know my father spoke fondly of the nurse that was kind to him during the war.

A cousin of mine in Scotland and I are thinking of taking a trip to Germany next year and this may allow us to do some more research.

Once again many thanks

Hi Svenja many thanks for the interest. My father was in camp 111A which was in Luckenwalde, Brandenburg. He talked very little about the war and his time as a POW but did mention that about prisoners were moved to work in a hospital in Potsdam. hope this helps

Gerry.

PS i have a full address that was on the rear of Ellias photograph

Thanks Dave, the name is on the back og her photo and not sure who wrote it so you could be correct.

Hi Looking for information on any descendants of a WW2 German nurse who was kind to my late father who was a POW. I found her photo and address in my fathers personal stuff. He passed away last year aged 94.

Her name was Ellie Kirchkoff (not sure of spelling) She lived in Potsdam Babelsberg Deutschland.

I have her full address and as stated her photo but will keep private at this moment
