Did not know that they rounded out the age on the 1841 census. Thank you for the information.

Barbara Muirhead was born 13 Jan 1810 and died 13 July 1886 Torphichen, West Lothian and her parents were Hugh Muirhead and Margaret Johnston.  Her husband was deceased. I know what you mean about the names but I can't be 100 percent because of the birth date of the Henry married to Barbara. I suppose it is impossible to really know for sure and follow a line that may not be mine. I do appreciate your help on this. I have tried just about everything I can think of. Thank you.
Regards and all the best for the New Year.

I am trying to find information on Henry Walker born 1792 parents  Peter Walker and Margaret Chalmers. The family lived at Tippithill Farm. I have his birth from GRO's.

There is also another Henry Walker born 1796 to William Walker and Elizabeth Whyte.  Cannot find any death for either of the Henry Walker's but one married Barbara Moorhead 14 Apr 1828 and on the 1841 Census Henry was said to be born in 1796 not 1792. However, they did name their children Peter and Margaret.  Would like to find out anything that would collaborate which Henry Walker is married to Barbara Moorhead.  Not an easy task.  Becky

Hi,

There are a few Walker families in that area. I have 8 Peter Walker's in my genealogy. Peter Walker and Margaret Chalmers. Peter was born 1757, Peter ii 1789, Peter iii 1815, Peter iv 1843. Then others 1853, 1857, 1880 and 1887.  Only one Janet in 1850. Most of the time they lived on Tippethill Farm.  You may be related to the other Walker's in the area. Check out the posts as I had heard from the other Walker family and they had some names on there. Good luck.

Robert Sutherland, a cooper died 19 June 1871 at the age of 35.  He was married and from Latheron.
He was born in Latheron 15 Mar 1835 to James Sutherland and Mary McKay.  Note on his marriage to Margaret Chalmers that states he was a cooper.  Even though it does not give a wife or parents we can pretty well figure this is him.

Hallo Forfarian and Moo,

I was wondering about that one and wondered why he would have died in Montrose and his wife marrying in the same year but I finally downloaded it from GRO's and he was in an asylum with paralysis for 3 years. It does not give a wife or parents but said he was from Latheron and that is where they came from. I can send this to you. I also have the death of Margaret Wight if you would care to have it. I have the marriage of Robert and Margaret as well. I assume I can do an attachment.

Yes it is frustrating trying to find Robert Sutherland's death on the GRO's. It could be it was indexed wrong. I have their marriage record in 1865 and his birth is on there b. 1835 to James Sutherland and Mary McKay.  If they did not divorce then he had to have died after his two children were born and Margaret remarried which would be between 1868 and 1871 and he would have been 33 or 36 yrs old. I will keep trying to find him.

Hi,

I did look into Mary Sutherland and she was the daughter and not the niece so it was from a second marriage. It is good that I found this site so that I could make that correction.
