Hi

I think the birthplace is mis transcribed and is in fact Limerick.

John is listed as widow but a bachelor when he married.

Hi All

I'm still struggling to pin down my Irish ancestors, my gg grandfather was born in Limerick (or the county Limerick as I have found out) in 1830 his brother Cornelius was born in 1832

Fathers names was also John (which does not help)

When John first lived in Whitby 1861 he was living with a servant Mary Ryan who was also born in Limerick, she was 16 so born around 1845/46 could this be a clue or am I just clutching at straws?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers
Andy

Anybody able to help with this

John died in 1884 in Whitby Union workhouse, softening of the brain, exhaustion.
His sister in law Mary (wife of Brother Cornelius was marked as informant).

How did the brothers get from Ireland to Whitby, surely there must be a record somewhere?
Both were born in Limerick fathers name John.

Hi

My GGG Grandfather is Griffith Harris b1825 merthyr (maybe christened Llanarthne), I am looking for a wedding somewhere in the area to a Mary b1830 Merthyr

Marys Maiden name would be fantastic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just received the wedding certificate for John Hayes and Margaret leadley - Whitby 1868

John Hayes born Limerick 1830 Fathers name John (listed as a farmer and deceased)

Both lied about their ages listed as 32 when both are 38 - John listed as Batchelor when a census from 1861 suggests he is a widow

I will wait to see what I can gather from the wedding cert.  Both John and Cornelius had died by 1911.

Other than wedding certs are there any others i can order that will help?? maiden name of mother would be ideal

Hi

I am waiting for Johns wedding cert to arrive.  Cornelius Hayes lived in the same street in Whitby and also from Limerick, I suppose he may not be Johns Brother
