Thank you both for your help.
I have been looking on the Hertfordshire archives webpage and I found a marriage register for John and Sarah in 1806. Does anyone know if I ordered it would it show the parents.

Hertfordshire / John Chapman. Ware

I'm researching a family member, John Chapman who was born about 1780 in Ware. He was a Bargeman. He married Sarah Riddle in 1806. I can't find a birth or baptism record for him and I'm trying to prove that his parents were Thomas Chapman and Mary Rowley. Does anyone have him in their tree. Thanks

Hi Jenny. I've been trying to find an answer to this one for a while. I don't think I'll ever know for sure who his parents were.
Thank you
Sue

Hi Jenny,  Charles Grant and Janet Phinn were my 3rd GGrandparents, I just read this post and I was wondering if you ever found out any other information about Charles' parents.

Inverness / Hugh Taggart. Inverness
« on: Tuesday 25 November 14 03:19 GMT (UK)  »
My Great Grandfather Hugh Taggart was born in Inverness about 1879. I can find him on the 1881 census. He married Christina Hanratty in 1899 in Inverness and they are both on the 1901 census. Then he disappears, Christina dies in 1938, it says on her death certificate that her first husband was Hugh Taggart and her second husband was called Edward Wells. I can find no death record for him. I know his family were Irish travelers and I'm wondering if he returned to Ireland or if he was killed in WW1, although he would have been in his 30's
Any ideas.
