Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Mary Ann Wyatt - Born King's Sutton c.1851

Sandie,
Very many thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately the marriage at Stow for October 1850 is not the one I am chasing. That is a marriage of William Wyatt to an Elizabeth Lawrence, it is just a nasty coincidence of name and location.

However his death and more especially her birth are super, thanks you very much indeed. It just shows the benefit of local information, being a Yorkshire lad I would never have associated Brackley with King's Norton.

Very many Thanks
Terry

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Mary Ann Wyatt - Born King's Sutton c.1851
« on: Thursday 27 October 05 09:30 BST (UK)  »
Can anybody help me with Mary Ann Wyatt who was born in King's Sutton about 1851, although it is her mother Hannah who I am interested in.

The 1851 census shows Hannah (birthplace Stow in the Wold Gloucestershire) married to William Wyatt, living in King's Sutton with daughter Mary Ann aged 6 months. However, Hannah Wyatt remarried Joseph Wilkins at King's Sutton in 1853, so I assume that William Wyatt died between 1851 and 1853 - it is a child of her second marriage who is my ancestor.

My quest is to find Hannah's maiden name - the only way I can think of doing that is either through her marriage certificate to William Wyatt, and I don't know if that happened in King's Sutton or Stow in the Wold, or through Mary Ann's birth certificate which I think will be the best bet. But I can find no definite record of either event on www.ancestry or www.familysearch and I have been down very many dead ends.

If anybody has any information on Mary Ann, I will be eternally grateful.

Many Thanks

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / George Benjamin Woolger - Eliza Attfield

Please excuse what might seem to be a very basic question but I am new to researching family history and have come to a grinding halt.

I have been happly plodding away, wandering up various dead ends and merrily spinning off into orbit. But now I have come to the marriage of George Benjamin Woolger and Eliza Attfield, I think in 1867. The 1861 census tells me that he was an innkeeper at Chertsey and born at Chertsey, whilst she was a domestic servant at Guildford and born at Chobham. But I can find no records for their births nor for either set of parents and I don't know how to progress. Can this forum help me take my research back further please - indeed is it an objective of this forum to help people who are stuck and don't know how to move forward. At the same time, can anybody please tell this frustrated and exasperated beginner why there are such huge holes in www.ancestor and www.familysearch.

Very many thanks for any help you may be able to provide

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Louisa Preston Woolger Born Chertsey in 1870
« on: Tuesday 19 July 05 17:18 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace my great grandmother Louisa Preston Woolger born in Chertsey on 19th July 1870 to George Benjamin Woolger and Eliza Woolger formerly Attfield. I have a copy of Louisa Preston's birth certificate but therefter she seems to disapear without trace, I can find no entry of her in census records, no marriage or death certificates - nothing! The only thing I know is that she appears on my grandmother's birth certificate.

I know her father died in 1876 so it may well be that her mother remarried and Louisa changed her surname - does anybody have a marriage of Eliza Woolger some time after 1876.

Many Thanks for any help that anybody may be able to provide
