Hi All,
I am searching for my Great Great Grandparents of Peter Reis, b: 1829, nr Kusel, Bayern, Germany & his spouse Katharina Simon, b: 23 June 1832 in Germany.

I have been unable to trace them any further forward & have only found Peter Reis's mother, who was Maria Katharina Reis, not sure when born, but know she died on 11 May 1846 in Germany.

I would be interested to know what happened to them & their other children.

I do know that one of their son's, Johann Adam Reiss, (my Great Grandfather),b: 1857, in Elsweiler, Bayern, Germany, d: Jan 1945 in Liverpool, England, travelled to England, where he met & married (my Great Grandmother), Elizabeth Wirth, b: 14 Apr 1857 in Kollweiler, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, d: 29 Dec 1913 in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom.

I would appreciate any help you can give.
I look forward to hearing of any information you can offer.

Hi wonder if you can help me please.
I'm trying to trace the parents of the following siblings:-
William Harry Smith, born 1904, in Portsmouth, Hampshire
Dorothy Smith, born 1903, in Portsmouth, Hampshire
Jack Smith, born 1906, in Portsmouth, Hampshire
George Smith, born in 1908, in Portsmouth, Hampshire
Thomas Smith, born in 1910, in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

The only information I have has come from the 1911 census.
Any help would be most appreciated as I have come up against the proverbial brick wall, as there are so many Smith's in Portsmouth, I have no idea which way to go.

Hi all,
I am trying to trace my Gt., Gt., Grandfather's parents.

My gt gt grandfather was Thomas Edgar, born in 1826 in Dumfries, Scotland.
My gt gt grandmother was Sarah Elizabeth Mooney, born in 1834 in Nova Scotia, Canada.


Thomas Edgar wed Sarah E Mooney  in 1860 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, they went on to have 8 children.
These children were:-

Sarah Ann Edgar, b 1876 in Mass, USA.
James M Edgar,  b 1872, Mass, USA.
William Edgar, b 1870, Mass, USA.
Joseph Edgar, b 1867, Mass, USA.
Charles R Edgar, b 1864, Mass, USA.
Nellie M Edgar, b 1858, Maine, USA.
John w Edgar, b 1855, Maine, USA.
Annie Heater Edgar, b 1863, Mass, USA & d abt 1940, Arlington, MA, USA.

This much I know.
The thing I don't know is Thomas Edgar's parents, I can find no info anywhere, so any help would be much appreciated.

My Grandad Herman Reis (Herbert Reece) born 24 Jul 1898 Liverpool, UK,-died 1969 Merseyside, UK.

Grandad was one of nine children born to Johann Adam Reiss, & Elizabeth Wirth.

J.A.Reiss, b: 16 Sept 1857 in Elsweiler, Germany & died in Jan 1945 in Liverpool, Lancashire,
E. Reiss (nee: Wirth) b:14 Apr 1857, Kollweiler, Germany & died 29 Dec 1913 in Liverpool, Lancashire.
Johann & Elizabeth married in Liverpool, Lancashire on 24 Nov 1879.

I know a little bit about the family of Reiss.
The parents of Johann Adam Reiss were:-
Peter Reiss, 21 Jul 1829, Elsweiler, Bayern, Germany
Katharina Simon, 23 Jun 1832, Germany.
P. Reiss & K. Simon married on 3 Jun 1859 in Horschbach, Hinzweiler, Bayern, Germany.

Johann Adam Reiss, was one of 9 children, born to Peter Reiss & Katharina Simon.

I know very little about my Gt, Gt, Gt Grandparents.
The only name I know of is Maria Katharina Reiss, unknown dob, was born in Elsweiler, but she died on 11 May 1846 in Germany.
What I would like to try & do is try to get her parents if at all possible.

Any help would be much appreciated.
