Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Reuben Folkard
« on: Saturday 02 January 16 10:26 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you for that.  There were more Folkards in Hasketon than I thought.  The Elizabeth Folkard who died is clearly not the same as the one who married.  Are the Hasketon parish records kept in Ipswich?

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Reuben Folkard
« on: Friday 01 January 16 23:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I have been trying unsuccessfully to track down my 4x great grandfather Reuben Folkard b1759 for some years.  I recently came across a Reuben Folkard christened 1759 at Hasketon, Suffolk, with mother Elizabeth Folkard.  I think this could be him, as the date fits exactly and the name is not common, but wondered if anyone had any further information.  There was also an Elizabeth who was buried at Hasketon in 1763, but I don't know how old she was or if she was related.
If anyone can help, I would be delighted.
Many thanks,
annmarg

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Birmingham trade directory look up
« on: Monday 16 June 14 13:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Does anyone have a trade directory for Birmingham between about 1925 and 1940?  My grandmother Alice Swain had either a milliner's shop or a hairdressing salon at 80 Warwick Rd, Sparkhill, and I would like to know which of these occupations it was. Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Re: William Henry PARKER, from Halesowen
« on: Thursday 05 September 13 18:32 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for the suggestions.  I checked the censuses, and our WHP states on two of them that he was born in Cradley, but lived in Hasbury both of which are near Halesowen in Worcestershire.  Our WHP was later married in St John the Baptist in Halesowen.  The family seem to have moved around the area a bit. I can't find any death of a WHP.  I'll do a bit more digging.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / William Henry PARKER, from Halesowen
« on: Tuesday 03 September 13 17:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to find out when and where my Gt Gt grandfather William Henry Parker was born.  I have found two entries for a baptism - on Feb 22nd 1823 in Hasbury and on April 6th  1823 at St John's Halesowen.  Both of these had parents William and Hannah.  I am unsure whether this is the same person, or whether by coincidence there were 2 families with exactly the same names, and why a baptism could have taken place twice. Or was it usual for a baptism to be recorded again later at the mother church? if anyone can help untangle this, I would be very happy.
Best wishes,

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage John Harvey to Sarah French
« on: Saturday 23 February 13 18:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Victor,
Many thanks for going to the trouble of looking up their marriage.  I don't know who George Elliott and Mary Lorn were.  John did have a sister Mary, so it could be her married name, but Mary was such a popular name.
Best wishes and good luck with your own research.

« on: Saturday 09 February 13 19:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to find out the date and place of the marriage between John Harvey and Sarah French in Gloucestershire around 1826.  If anyone can help that would be great. She was born Stonehouse near Stroud, he was born Walcot, Bath, but they lived in Cheltenham all their married life.
Many thanks,
