Hi Dave
I have been reading your posts and it does seem that you know a fair bit about the McGlynns so I was hoping you may be able to help me. What I do know that my Grt Grandfather was Peter Mcglynn born 1872 and died in 1938 I know of his Siblings  Anne, James,Bridget,Patrick,Michael & Bartley, I also know that his father was called Patrick born about 1829 but I know nothing of his siblings, not for the lack of trying.. ??? also I think his father was called John McGlynn I believe they were from the Cloghan area in Donegal.
Any help would be gratefully received.
  Gordon.

Thanks for the Info everyone, but once again I am struggling to determine whose Patricks siblings were, there seems to be so many Mcglynn's in and around Cloghan that I am really having difficulty in determining who is who…!!!! If I knew who his father John was married to that may be of some help but all attempts have failed on that front.
Do the records for Ireland i.e. Census only start from 1901 >>???  And where would I visit in Donegal for records in the Cloghan area. ?

  Thanks again..   :-\

Thanks again.

Hi all first post on here. I am trying to find out a bit more about my Dads side of the family.

The facts I have are, his Grandfather was Peter McGlynn 1872-1938 born in Cloghan,Donegal, and  married Mary Ann Campbell on 9th October 1907. Peters father was Patrick McGlynn 1829 ? who married Mary Carlin.

I know about Peters history i.e. his children but trying to find the siblings of Peter has been a bit of a nightmare so any help would be gratefully received this is the generation I would like help on and anything about his father.

Thanks
           Gordon. :)

Hi all first time on this site. I am trying to find out more about my Great Grandfather Christopher Henry Thomas military history in the 18th Hussars.  He was attested in London on the 14th September 1894 aged 20yrs 2months and served 12yrs, just over 8 yrs in the army and 3yrs 328 days in the reserves,of which 6 yrs 356 days were service abroad.
I have details from his medals QSA that he fought at Defence of Ladysmith, Orange free state,Laings Nek & Belfast and also KSA but what I would like to find out is where did he serve for the years before and after South Africa.
His discharge was confirmed on the 13th Sept 1906 at york.

I know he was in B Squadron in South africa and he's service No was 4216. Could I get his full service history still.
Hoping for some replies to put me on the right path
