I now have the birth certificate for William.  So I know who his mother was but the father is listed as unknown.

Thanks guys,

It would be the most obvious answer, to gain a marriage certificate.  I guess that I was just cheating, in case anybody was researching the same family.  George Robert is 100% correct, also Doreen and Kenneth, they were his siblings.

Hi does anybody have any info on Ethel Corrin?  Born 1898 in Liverpool, Merseyside.  Married, George Edward Palethorpe (Born:1893 in Radford, Notts, Died:1976), .  I think that her Father could have been John Corrin, but not 100% sure.  Their first child, George Robert Palethorpe was born in Liverpool, (1925).

Thankyou

Thanks Claire,

It wasn't what I thought it was going to be, very sad though.

I thought that it was about an incident involving one of my ancestors.  One of my Great Uncles was involved in a scuffle with a Police Officer.  Apparently he pushed the Police Officer and he accidentally fell under a bus and died.  The Uncle then ran away to another country (Supposedly).  It is not something that makes me feel proud but I was just curious.  I wanted to hear the correct story not just rumours.  It would have been around 1920's, 30's.  His Surname was Palethorpe, born in Nottingham.

I'll take a look at the website, that you have suggested.

Thanks anyway

 ;)

Thanks everyone,

I have been talking to family members and they insist that William should have been born a "Teather".  It looks like his parents could have been "Alice Mabel Wilson" and "George Herbert Teather".  I don't understand why he didn't live with them though.  He would have been born out of wedlock and "Alice" would have been around 17 years old when she had him.

I can't prove any of this, yet, I will have to keep digging.  It doesn't help when elder relatives refuse to give info.

Thank you so much for all of your help.  I am going to have to order certificates at some point.  I know that won't guarantee the Fathers name but it will ensure his Mothers.

 :) :)

Hi,

Is anybody able to look up articles in, "The Nottingham Evening Post"?  I would like the whole story to the following, 'Police Officer killed by bus, 27th Dec, 1930"

Thank you  :)
