Thanks Jay, just realised you have answered my question regarding the 1851 census and that they were living in Whitechurch Canonicorum.  Thankyou Mary

Hi Richard

Yes that is them from Wooton Fitzpaine.  I thought with a name like Pashur it would be easier to find references to him but it seems not!  I have him living in Wooton Fitzpaine in 1841 and then in London in 1861 but cannot find him on a census for 1851.

I had at one time thought that Robert and Mary Duval were his parents but I couldn't make the dates add up, then I got to thinking that perhaps Robert was his brother as you suggest also.

I was wanting to apply for Pashur's birth certificate but don't know how to go about it.  Do you know how I would apply for one from here.

Thanks so much for that infomation and those links to Jane Stokes I hadn't seen them, although I knew she had gone to Utah and always wondered whether she had changed religion, Charles family were all Anglican very interesting indeed!

Thanks again for any help.
Mary

Hi I'm looking for any information re Pashur Reader Born 1791 in Marshwood Dorset and died 1864 Middlesex England. He was married to Mary Greening. I'm trying to trace back his father and mother, but having no luck. I am on ancestry.com but cannot find who his parents were. One of his sons Charles Reader came to Australia in 1856 and settled in Geelong.  Would love any information or help.  We are his direct descendants and would love to know more about him. Thanks Mary

Hi there

This is my first post, hopefully I get it right.  I was directed to this site from ancestry.com. I have been researching the Reader family for a number of years.  Hopefully I can help you with some of your questions regarding Charles and Elizabeth Reader. My husband is a direct descendant of Charles and Elizabeth he is there great great great grandson. Charles arrived in Geelong on the Arabian with his first wife Elizabeth, she was a Bartlett and much older than him. She was committed to the Ararat lunatic  asylum, Charles and Elizabeth Shannon had a son Charles Frances whilst Charles was still married to Elizabeth in the Asylum, they didnt get married until she died.  It was very confusing working all this out.  I have both marriage certificates as my father-in-law had kept them.  We have visited the asylum but as yet cannot find a grave for the first Elizabeth.  Charles and Elizabeth and Charles Frances and Blanche are buried in a double plot here in Geelong it is very ornate, with a wrought iron fence surrounding.  I am trying to find Pahurs parents but have no luck whatsover, can you help?  Regards Mary
