Yes there are Black lines and i know his daughters are alive hence why i didn't mention their names and i actually made contact but unfortunately, the person who would be my cousin knows nothing of his past or other marriage /family. i was told that she knew he had a son who turned up when her father passed away but that was just one brief meeting and not seen again.

Yes its Fredrick not fred

Flintshire / Fredrick Jones researching between 1911-39 help
« on: Wednesday 09 June 21 16:55 BST (UK)  »
I am currently stuck on my research on a member of my family tree so I thought I would reach out for help as i have done in the past and had some very helpful support .

Here goes

I am researching my great uncle for myself and other family members but im stuck i can't find any information for the years after the 1911 census and before the 1939 census.
I know by 1939 he had settled with a woman ( unmarried i think ) and they had three daughters together but heard that he may have been married before this and that he had a son/sons and that is what I'm trying to find out .

this is the information i have so far :

Fredrick Jones born 1890 Buckley,Flintshire died 18th sept 1958 in st Asaph Flintshire.
Parents William Jones (1863 - )Elizabeth Ann Jones ( nee Lawrence ) 1862-1901

He had 7 siblings

John- 1884
Mary- 1886
Margaret- 1894
Sarah- 1892
Elizabeth- 1899
Robert - 1888
Garnett- 1901

On the 1911 census, he is single, occupation Filler and still living at home with his parents in Flintshire
.
On the 1939 census, he is listed as married, there is another female adult listed as being a housekeeper. I have no marriage certificate for them but i do know this is the woman he settled with and went on to have 3 children with all girls living in Colwyn bay Denbighshire.
Although his firstborn daughter from this relationship was born in 1937 there was no mention of her on the 1939 census this is what makes me think they weren't married and that the reference to him being married is from a previous marriage and that's what i am trying to find out plus how many other children he had and who they may be .

I would be grateful for any help or support.

                                                                 Thank you

There is a village just to the north of Omodos where the houses just seem to cling to the mountain.

I`ve just remembered that I have some photos of a museum that shows village life as it was. I`ll pm you.

Thank that would be great.

Famagusta was an important harbour town that is now in no man's land.

Your father was born during the period Cyprus was a UK Crown colony.

Thank you that's interesting but I'm guessing it may have looked a lot different back in 1912 an so on That's providing i was given the correct information!

Hi,
I am trying to trace the life of my father before he came to this country.
The only information I have is that he came over here around the late '50s to early '60s, his life before that I know nothing of or of my origins on that side.
His name was Osman Hussain Adani, born 3rd November 1912 in a village in Cyprus called Famagusta and died London 1979. He was of Turkish origin as he was Turkish Cypriot, I think his parents came from Turkey and he was born in Cyprus. I know my mother was not his first marriage but as far as I know, she was the first in this country . my mother was English.
I can't find anything on him and would very much like to find out my origins on that side of the family.

Any kind of help or support would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards Miriam
