Hi all,

Yes it happened to me!  Received a letter from a professional genealogy firm referring to a distant relative had died intestate.  Large value estate but many potential beneficiaries spread all over the globe!!  Now some 2 years on the solicitors appointed are sitting on the liquidated estate running into 6 figures,  can somebody advise if the money held by the solicitors will attract interest and at what rate?  I am the appointed administrator.         The genealogy firm are still chasing potential beneficiaries and say this process could go on for years!  Is there a time limit?

Thankyou in advance for any help

Mike.

Hi,  I have sent off forms 1 and 2 together with a cheque for £30.00 to RN 48 West Battery, PO2 8DX on the 10th January.  I have not received any acknowledgement or information.  How long does this normally take?  How can I cheque to see if the request has been received?

Hi,  The search document requires his NI Number.  He has been deceased for 60+ years  with no close family to ask.  How do I get this info?  Sid Hardy is my uncle.  I do have his service number (1917 - 1937)

Hi, I have located his Navy record up to 1930's but cannot find anything more.  I know he served during 1939 -1946.  His service number: J42199.  I would like to trace his service record up to leaving the Navy.  Born 1900, Death 1968, Lived in Birmingham. 1911 Census: RG14, 18364.

Any help offered would be much appreciated. :)

Norfolk / Re: William Hardy d1786 Mary d1782 Caston revisited
« on: Monday 24 August 15 17:13 BST (UK)  »
True Pat, William's birth remains a mystery William and Mary's children were all born/baptised in Caston between 1735 and 1749.  I have looked at all on-line records for the parishes surrounding Caston and cannot find a reference to William or Mary (maiden name unknown).

Not sure how far to broaden the search?

Mike.
