London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Look up London Metropolitan Archives
« on: Tuesday 03 October 23 00:01 BST (UK)  »
HI All...I would appreciate if anyone is going to London Met. Archives and could do a look up in the British Mariners Trinity House Calendars  and the Corporation of Trinity House. National records. I have the reference numbers and dates for both of my 2 gentlemen and would happily scan and attach same.

Long walk from Western Canada !!! Although a trip would be fantastic !!

Thanks Forforan
I  was grasping at straws ..hoping some new info might surface.
The trees shown on various sites are incorrect regarding William ( and others) as younger family members ( and in-laws)do not believe in proving !!  Easy found  must be right is their motto I think!!
Back to my history books....

Roxburghshire / Kelso/Crailing/Wooden
« on: Tuesday 16 November 21 01:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All
Once again I return to my genealogical quest ( after a long time-out).
William Black(2) was born 1784 in Wooden... His parents William Black(1) and Beithie Gray,  married in 1777 in Crailing...Father Wm Black (1) appears to have been born 1752 in Wooden .
Wm Black(2) married Elizabeth Wilson1820 in Kelso ( this according to a newspaper announcement).
Information about Wooden is scarce to negligible.
Can anyone help me put some flesh on my skeletons and find info( Then and now) about the area where they once lived.
Thanks in advance

Annie and Colin
Thank you both for your help...Annie ... do you have a copy of the MRI Booklet ?  Does the name Grierson appeaar?  Before I make the purchase?
Colin and Annie
Looking at the children... about time I re-looked at what I have  ..  Janet Lockerbie's mother was Grizzel or Grace Bell..one name looked after! Leaves me Margaret!

Son John's death certificate 1891 says father is John and mother Janet Lockerbie
So... I am going to look seriously at John and Margaret Pearson  with John's birth ca 1778.
Thanks again   and Happy Christmas....Be Safe

Dumfriesshire / Grierson
« on: Thursday 10 December 20 23:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All
I am looking for the birth and/or death of John Grierson (weaver) in order to further prove his/ my line. His mother's name would do the trick !!! I believe John was born ca 1775 in Dumfriesshire.
I have John's (Sp. Grirson) marriage to Janet Lockerbie August 10 , 1804. John and Janet are listed in the 1841 and 1851 census............all in the parish of Lochmaben, Dumfries They had 6 children.
They disappear following the 1851 census.
Anyone know a secret source ???
Be safe everyone !
