Hi there,

My great grandparents William and Emma Martin are buried at Tottenham Cemetery, western section. I have the grave numbers but no idea where they are. Does anyone have a decent map/plan of the cemetery - or know where I can obtain one? Any help in finding them would be greatly appreciated.

The Common Room / Re: Cause of Death: "Teething Convulsions"

I've just received a death certificate for my grand uncle William Hillyear who died in Brighton workhouse in 1895 aged just two. Cause of death being Dentition Convulsions for 3 hours. I'd never heard of this before and it seems an awful end to a very short life.

Hi Bowman,

I've got a copy of that book titled "Chapel and Northam" by Sheila Jemima - also I have "Southampton's Inns and Taverns" by the late Tony Gallaher, both have some interesting photos that I could scan for you if need be. Let me know.

Hi Bowman,

I too was born in Albert Road, Southampton and had relatives in Dock Street and Ryde Terrace etc - mainly Scott and Cotton families. I've also come across the Port Cities photos and the Street Directories that have have helped me make quite a database over the years - but as you say, photos are a bit rare. It seems there was only photographic interest in our neighbourhood if there was some kind of incident. I do have lots of OS maps over most of the period when Chapel existed.
