Magslote, Edwin Arthur Quilter was my father, can I ask about your interest in Betty, All I know about her is that she was adopted sometime in 1932 after the death of their mother, It was an official adoption and her birth cert is amended with adopted on it, Ive never been able to find out what happened to her, many years ago I went through the adoption people in Leicester but never got anywhere.

Jim1, Thank you it all helps to narrow it down.

Millipede, According to my brother he remembers our maternal grandmother showing him the photo in the 70's but the names I have are wrong although he cant remember who she said they were, the girl reminds me very much of my grandmother so it is possible she is a Dawkins who came from Rothwell in Northamptonshire, but without a correct name I cant pin her down.

Japeflakes thank you so much for the restore, I like the Toggle buttons on her jacket too, according to google they came in in the 1850's  for coats and jackets.

Although I have names for this couple I have no idea of who they are and if they are family, If anyone can can please give me an idea of the date of this photo and an idea of their ages it might help me to figure out where they belong.

I think you will find men were sent were ever they were needed,  my Edwin Butler was  a Leicester boy but he served in the Connaught Rangers, I didnt understand this until someone  from the Connaught Rangers association told me it was common.
