Thanks Heywood.
No other info except he was famous as one of The invincibles who assasinated the Lord Lieutenant in the Phoenix Park and was executed with the others involved. The small bit a read about him is that he was a young apprentice coach builder and was a choir member.
I checked also GV for that village but no Kelly as tenants. Of course it could be just a family myth.

Dublin / Tim Kelly Invincible from Dublin
« on: Wednesday 15 January 20 18:48 GMT (UK)  »
Im looking for family information about Tim Kelly the Invincible. An anecdote about my grand uncle in late 1800s was that having deserted the British Army and before emigrating to the USA he stayed in Dublin with Kellys in Cabinteely because they were cousins of his wife who was a Clerkin from Monaghan. Of course it could be that he stayed with Clerkins in Cabinteely who were cousins of Kelly.
My family source has since died so I cant go back there.
Thanks

Dublin / Pimlico maps
« on: Monday 07 October 19 16:22 BST (UK)  »
1 Where might I find a map of Pimlico, the street not the area, around late 1700s early 1800s. I have an address, I think from Thoms or other directory, and just trying to locate that address on the ground. Perhaps the original property was demolished to make way for Dublin Corporation/DCC houses on that street now.
2. Any other books or detailed information about that area/street? I have a copy of Mairin Johnson's book ' Around the banks of Pimlico' but it deals with from late 1800s to more recent times which is later than my time of interest
3. I read somewhere that the families in the area from late 1700s were mostly English woolen workers and Hugenout lace workers. Where could I find out more about that?
4 What society/ies, groups, organisations have mor einfo about the area around that time?
pologies fie multiple and long-winded questions and thanks in advance.
Thanks

Offaly (Kings) / Re: Lost contact Hands Dairy Tullamore

From memory Hands lived in a part of Rahan just outside of Tulamore; the townland was called either Kiliskea or Carton West. I can actually picture the bend on the road where Hand's farm yard was up to the ealry noughties; at least thats the name I remember as the milk delivery people. I think there were (at least) two brothers and I recall them both. Since, as far as I know, both are still alive or definitely have family still there I'm not going to give names. If you pm me I migh be able to help you more.
The other local family who delivered street by street in the town were Kearneys. John Kearney had a horse drawn milk cart drawn and the milk was filled into jugs from the churn and from there to peoples house jugs. Id say the horse was so used to the house stops he was almost on auto pilot each delivery day. Kearneys lived on Clara Road just beyond its junction with Clontarf Road. Again there are family still living locally so I wont mention any names.
Hope this was helpful.

Tipperary / Re: Clarke/Clark families Clouighjordan

Thanks Maggsie for the help.
Yes Thomas married but had left Cloughjordan/Tippeerary and it was in Tullamore mid 1840s - I have his records for his marrriage, death and burial (two different ages for those) and I'm relying on burial age for his year of birth (as 1814). Its his fatherS name and Tom's and place of birth that I cant find and I dont know if his father and mother were (formally) married.

OK Thanks.
Were there possibly parish records before 1800s that are not microfilmed/in NLI?

An alternative I'm thinking of is researching
a)Gravestone records/readings for that and neighbouring Parishes to see if I can get a list of possibles for the father and/or
b) Parish and gravestone records for the father's parents deaths  as I undestand he died (fairly) young.
I've seen some material from Ormond Historical Society for the area but a quick scan didnt reveal anything relevant.
