I have found an alternative “Fisher Roen”, only mentioned in Helen’s birth.

I’ve noticed that there are a few Fisher and Fischer addresses in Ferguslie, but no Fisher Loan.

Looking for evidence of Fisher Loan, Paisley. Birth place of Helen Young, daughter of Thomas Young and Agnes Steele, wife of James Hilcote.

Hi Rosinish
I have an Emma Rankin at the above address in 1871 Census aged 34 working as a domestic servant, Emma was born in 1836 so age matches. Emma married John Stevenson in 1859, they appear in the 1861 Census together but I can't trace them together subsequently. Scotlands People are showing no results for divorces , annulments or dissolutions. I may be wrong in my assumption that this is the same Emma. Would there be any other reason for using maiden name. John Stevenson died in 1911 and Emma in 1914.

Many thanks in advance

Hi

My Grandfather fought in WW1 at La Bassee Canal and was mentioned in dispatches for action on the 18th April 1918. I would like to find out more about the company leading up to and including this action. My Grandfather Daniel Stevenson 420215 Cpl, and I suspect his older and younger brother, John and James were also fighting in the same area.  I have Day Diaries for this period and have information on Daniel's action that day, but have been unable to trace John or James.
Does the regiment have a museum or archive locally where I can access records. 1911 Census shows the family at 52 Caledonia Street Paisley.

Thanks David
