hi folks,really must appologise for the length of time i've been off this site,this was due to a false promise from an internet provider,however thanks to some detective work from Trys on this site(he traced me through FB).anyway I have been in contact with my 1st cousin and we are,between us gathering as much proven material as possible.glad to be back on here and hope to progress with the initial post.many thanks. :-)

hi andy,yes i am curious.remember my father saying he had relations in oldhamstocks and innerwick but unfortunately dont know what their names were.i also remember a girl who used to go to innerwick in the school holidays
and she introduced herself as a distant cousin (when i was a dj in dunbar)
never really established the connection properly as i was a teenager and not really into family history at the time.if my memory serves right her name was
Susan.any info would be really appreciated.many thanks.

THANKS VERY MUCH RUSSELL,REALLY APPRECIATE THAT INFO.ITS FURTHER BACKTHAN I HAVE MANAGED,FAMILY RECORDS HAVE GONE AMISS.ONLY THING
THAT I HAVE DEFINATE INFO ON IS MY GRANDMOTHER ISABELLA DENHOLM
(NEE WEBSTER) DIED ON 26TH DECEMBER 1960 IN STENTON BUT YOU KNOW WHAT EAST LOTHIANS LIKE, THEY COULD HAVE MOVED FROM HADDINGTON,
DUNBAR OR ANYWHERE IN EAST LOTHIAN AS WAS COMMON IN THESE DAYS
AS HOUSING WENT HAND IN HAND WITH EMPLOYMENT.GOOD TO KNOW THAT
THERE ARE PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF OUT THERE WILLING TO HELP NEWBIES LIKE ME.IT REALLY IS MUCH APPRECIATED.

hi there,all three names are a popular surnames in dunbar
especially anderson and marr.may i suggest you try the DUNBAR COMMUNITY WEBSITE.a site which is free to join and post questions,as i have said before to others DUNBAR
has its own historical society with a wealth of knowledge
on parish records etc and they are willing to help when they can,(this will also help to raise the profile of rootschat)
if you can be more specific,names, dates etc someone should be able to help.i know a lot of people in east lothian
and my brother is married to an anderson.
thers a lot of andersons in the construction industry and marr is a popular name in the fishing industry.hope this is of some help to you and if theres anything else i can do to help just e-mail me and i will do what i can.just a word of warning though there a thousands of andersons in east lothian.happy hunting.

hi there,dont know if its much good to you but belonging to dunbar ther was a television repair company called
KNOX & NOON.noon is not a common name in dunbar so maybe if you tried "the dunbar community"website, someone may be able to help.this website is free to join
and you can post any questions you want to other members.Dunbar has a strong historical society so i'm sure
someone could point you in the right direction.happy hunting.

hi there,re stenton games-stenton is a small village in east
lothian(in case you did not know)4 miles from dunbar & 6 miles from haddington.both towns have glass families living there today.i know the dunbar family and will make enquiries for you but suggest you try "the haddingtonshire parish"records in the meantime.if you need anymore info

hi there,just a small piece of advice,having tried to trace families that moved abroad,a lot of them simply disappear
from records.some move state but some even change their name,hope this is not the case for you.good luck
