Antrim / Marriage of Samuel Hamill & Margaret Orr
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 21:33 BST (UK)  »
I am hoping to get more information on the above. They had at least 5 children, one of which was John, born 9th October 1872, Ballyveasey (that's what the birth certificate spells, is it now known as Ballyvesey?), the surname is spelt HAMIL and there are no ages for the parents. Margaret Orr supposed to be related to a Sergeant Major Boyle of Irish Fusiliers who fought at Battle Of Waterloo

Thanks for the info yesterday Little Nell.
It has gave me the push to look deeper as i have stopped doing any research for 10 years now as i can't make the Strathclyde Genealogy Centre anymore due to work. I am getting used to the p.c. now and am surprised how easy searching online looks thanks to yourself. Ireland maybe difficult though, is there the same kind of service for there?

I am the great great grandson of Harriet Frame born 3rd May 1870, daughter of Thomas (Watchmaker) and Annie Preston who were married in Hutchesontown, Glasgow 20th Nov 1863. Think i need to go to Edinburgh to find more or if someone can advise me on the best online family tree research
