Lancashire Lookup Requests / Electoral Roll Look Up - Cotterill Family
« on: Monday 19 September 11 21:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can someone please look up the Liverpool electoral roll for the Cotterill family who lived at 53 Caldwell Road, Allerton, Liverpool in 1930?

I am researching my great grandfather which states on his death certificate of  this address as his sisters and she was the informant!    I was not aware that he had a sister and thought he was an only child.

If someone could give me information regarding this family in 1930, before then & after for the Cotterill family at this address.   I would be very grateful of any help anyone can give me to fill in these gaps.

Unfortunately, I do not live local and I am unable to visit the area to check myself.

Regards........Elaine

Derbyshire / Derby Electoral Register Look up please
« on: Monday 02 August 10 14:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to look up the Electoral Register for the following addresses in Derby which I got from copies of certs and are looking for any other family names (Pegg, Smith, Mills or could be related families) living at these addresses:-

11, 6, Court House, Bridge Gate, Derby (lived there in 1901)
16 Green Street, Derby (living there in 1902)
35 Bridge Street, Derby (living there in 1902)
17 Crown Street, Derby (living there in 1902)
121 Whitecross Street. Derby (living there in 1923)
12 Dorset Street, Derby (living there in 1966- poss since 1920 to 1966 or after that)
240 Stenston Road, Derby (living there in 1966)
90 Worcester crescent, Derby (lived there in 1984)
Quarn Street, Derby (lived there poss 1920 - 1966)

I have given the dates from the years of certs and other information that I have and hope that a search of people at these addresses can be listed down for me from at least 1871 to 1984.   I believe that some of these addresses no longer exist and would appreciate any information and help regarding this.

I don't live locally and I can't think how else I can get this information but to ask on here and hope that someone is visiting the Derby Record office or Derby local studies library or perhaps Matlock record office.

This information would be most helpful as I can't go forward or backwards in my research - so I am stuck with just these addresses to go on.

I know that this is a big ask and will take some time to look up all these addresses.

Many thanks in advance,

Regards........Elaine

Renfrewshire / Re: 1891/1901 census lookup - Devol Farm, Port Glasgow
« on: Wednesday 23 June 10 00:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi

thanks you very much for your help - it is much appreciated.   My relative's name was a Donald McQuarrie (farm servant) and unfortunately he is not listed on either of these censuses.

He had an illegitimate son born in Airdrie and the mother disclosed father name and address where he was at the time as Donald McQuarrie of Devol Farm, Port Glasgow.   The mother married later to another man and they brought the son up as their own but kept his surname of McQuarrie.   By the time the son got married in 1925 he had stated that Donald McQuarrie (father) was deceased.

It was worth a try - may never be able to find the right Donald McQuarrie !!!!! and its a mystery and may remain unsolved.

thanks again for your help.

regards........Elaine

Renfrewshire / 1891/1901 census lookup - Devol Farm, Port Glasgow
« on: Tuesday 22 June 10 23:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can some kind person do a look-up on the 1891 & 1901 census for Devol Farm, Port Glasgow and the tenant / owner was a Mrs Black who agreed to the use of land for the current Port Glasgow Golf Club.   I am looking for any information on this person and the names of farm servants who worked there.

I have a relative who worked there in 1897 and was hoping that he was working there at the time of these censuses as this is the only information have.

Is it likely that there may have been other records about the history of this site and if so where would these records be kept?

I would be very grateful if someone could help in any way.

thanks..........Elaine

Derbyshire / Electoral Rolls for Dronfield
« on: Saturday 30 January 10 08:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone can check the electoral rolls for the Dronfield district for some addresses that I have.

I would be grateful if you could tell me where I get these online or do I visit a local library or records office and which one?  Unfortunately I do not live locally so I am bit in the dark about this.

Also, I am not sure what years the electoral rolls started and what years you can get access to at any sources.

I would appreciate any advice and help.

Thanks...........Elaine

Derbyshire / Re: 1901 Census - 17 Crown Street, Derby
« on: Monday 06 April 09 23:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi Mo,

Thanks for that info.  Would there be any particular reason why you can't see it?"

I also can't find this address in any census years via FindMyPast either - any ideas!!!!

As I don't live anywhere near Derby how can I find out these details if not through any census.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Regards.....Elaine
