Hi Janette, many thanks for your reply. The Cooper family arrived in NZ in 1876, leaving from Glasgow on the 1st July.
Father was Henry Cooper , Mother was Ann (Harper)
Daughter Elizabeth Cooper.
Daughter Mary Ann Cooper
Son George Cooper.
I cannot find out where they went when they arrived in NZ, but I can only find that George and his Father and Mother went to Orepuki in 1886 or earlier to be miners.
No sign of the two sisters, but I have found out that Robert Cooper (Father of Henry) left for New Zealand with his youngest son Edward, on the ship Lady Jocelyn. No idea of the date but they they travelled to Australia. Also miners.  I hope this is a start for you, I have looked at the census here in NZ but no sign of the two girls .  Kind regards, Dulcie.

I am trying to find two sisters of my Grandfather ..... George Cooper.
They immigrated to New Zealand in 1876 on the City of Dunedin, with their parents Henry and Ann (Harper) Cooper.
Elizabeth ch 25 Sept 1861 and Mary Ann ch 19 Nov 1862.  At the All Saints , West Bromwich, Stafford.
Henry Cooper was a landowner, miner in Orepuki, Southland,New Zealand working with Son George.
I cannot find what happened to the two girls, did they marry, or return to England or maybe Australia.

Thanks for your prompt reply.  I haven’t any idea about the marriage date, from what I have is they had a son, my 2nd Gt Grandfather Henry Cooper b 1837 d 1914 in Orepuki, New Zealand, no idea of any other family.   Henry married Ann Harper b1834 and she died in Orepuki, NZ in 1900. Henry and Ann immigrated to New Zealand on the Lancashire Witch in 1876. With their three children Elizabeth, Mary Ann and my Grandfather George Cooper.
I believe Robert Cooper travelled either to New Zealand and Australia on The Lady Jocelyn.  There seems to be another son of Roberts called Edward b 1850.
I cannot find anything about Elizabeth and Mary Ann, just wondering if the travelled back to England. Thank you.

Thank you very much, the date of 1833 would be right.   In the 1871 census they were living at 53 Temple Street, West Bromwich.
How do I go about finding out about Humphrey and the family.  I live in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand and it seems a shame that Ann Cooper (Harper) seems to have no one but ourselves. We have the Coopers here but no Harpers.

I am trying to find out about Ann Harper who married Henry Cooper on 26th December 1859, in Aston Juxta Birmington, Warwick.

Also their two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Ann Cooper. They travelled to New Zealand but at the moment I cannot find anything about them.

I am trying to find my Great Grandmothers family.
Her name Ann Harper, married Henry Cooper, in the 1871 census they lived at 53 Temple Street, West Bromwich.  Her age was 37.  In an earlier index their address was Aston Juxta Birmington, Warwick.     Henry and Ann were married in 1859.
They had three children ,  Elizabeth ch in 1861. Mary Ann ch 1862. And George ch 1864.

The family travelled to New Zealand on the 1st July 1876, leaving from Glasgow on the City of Dunedin.    They then travelled to Orepuki, Southland, New Zealand where Ann died in 1900.
I cannot find anything as yet about Elizabeth or Mary Ann. The son George was my Grandfather.  I would like to find more about the Harper family.
