Another lovely one thank you!
(don't know where my replies went sorry!)

I have relocated here since a death in the family 2015. Not researching my own family history atm but happy to look around these lovely cemeteries on the Bellarine for anyone else. I am also on BillionGraves.

Where has my reply gone. In case it went AWOL, thank you very much everyone! What a beautiful set of pictures. I don't know why I have had no notifications at all. You have all gone to so much trouble.

I have had family dramas and a death in the family so have moved to Geelong- available for graving pictures.

Thank you so much :)
Hello Margaret, I just posted a reply and tried to upload a photo for you... and lost the lot. Sometimes I can't use this website easily. Anyway there certainly is a headstone... will PM

I have just received a copy if a letter dated 18th December 1854 giving details of our great grandmothers death and burial in Melbourne.  If it is possible to find and photo the grave we would be forever in your debt. The name is Sarah Hodgkins and possibly her baby Mary Ann Eugenie. The letter says Sarah is buried in Melbourne cement,  7 miles from Richmond in grave number 91. The intention was for a tombstone to be erected. Sarah died on 12th December 1854 and had been buried when her husband Frederick writes to break the news to her parents on 18th Dec.
Thank you so much. Margaret

You will need information on my post on Margaret's other thread.  Anyone reading this may have difficulty locating her burial/headstone as there were two cemeteries in and near Melbourne in 1854 - Old Melbourne Cemetery [now under the Queen Victoria Market] and [New] Melbourne General Cemetery at Carlton.

Thank you Margaret and Cando for all the research - I had trouble opening the pdf but I have a map and I know the section is near the gate en route from church every Sunday. So won't be long before I can have a look.  :)

Thank you for that- looks like both sides of my family may be from Comber. I have Cumbers and Kennedys (and doubtless their derivatives) in my tree. Lots to look at- thanks again. Have a nice day/night :)

Hi the other Kennedy co down topic  going on currently with some possible overlaps is on http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.ireland.dow.general/16097.2.1/mb.ashx
I see my reply to this message has not been accepted by the internet. I am really getting tired of having to repeat postings... and no doubt people thinking I haven't replied when I have. Sorry about that. My reply (again) was- thanks for the tip. I checked it out- that is actually my posting on ancestry's forum! But thank you so much for taking the trouble to have a look around. People overall have been so generous with their time. I am still quite new to this and am really pleased that things are moving along... :D

You will need to go back at least one or two generations to see how James is related to the other Kennedys and how a picture of them came to be in his possession.

There could be a connection through the maternal line.

I think you alluded to a possible Black connection.

Not the rarest of surnames to be dealing with so a lot of careful research and paperwork to be looked at.

Okay will do! And thank you again for all your help. Will pop more names into my website and see how the cookie crumbles!! How exciting! :) Heather
