World War Two / Re: Death certificate for those killed in action during WW2

Sorry looking for District and Quarter to order please?

Don't worry, found the details!

You won't find the reference on the GRO website, they only list deaths up to 1917, but you use the reference I gave you to order on the website.

Click  on Place an order, then  follow the procedure using the reference you have, it will be a paper certificate received through the post, the cost £9.25, you can't download a pdf version.

Thanks scrimnet. I am aware he had an alien registration. Would he have naturalisation papers too?

World War Two / Re: Rimini Camp Ukrainian POW
« on: Wednesday 14 December 16 14:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi whiterussian737,
I too am searching for a Ukrainian man, who I believe was held at the Victoria Camp in Mildenhall, Suffolk, England after WW2. I do know that many of the Ukrainians held at Rimini Camp were sent to Victoria Camp as they were members of the 14th Galician Division. The man I am looking for was possibly from Kremenets in West Ukraine. If you do come across any useful information please share it with me and I will do likewise if you wish?
Regards,
Ali

World War Two / Ukrainian POWs
« on: Wednesday 14 December 16 14:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
I am trying to research a Ukrainian who is believed to have been held at Victoria Camp in Mildenhall in Suffolk, England. He passed away in the 1970s. He may also have been held at Britannia Barracks (Mousehold Heath POW Camp) in Norwich. I am aware that many of the POW at Victoria Camp were part of the Ukrainian 14 Galician Division, but I do not know if he was. There is a list of those held at Rimini, which is still classified and held at the National Archives in Kew.
My questions are, does anyone know where to find POW nominal rolls for Rimini, Victoria or Mousehold Heath Camps or those members of the 14th Galician Division?
Thanks,
Ali

World War One / Re: Croat soldier in Trieste in 1914

As an update to this post, I have found this man's Baptism Record in 1875 in the village of  Sela Zagorska in Croatia. His confirmed name is Joannes Znidarec. However, I am still keen to track down his military record, which from previous posts would suggest he served in the Austro-Hungarian Army in Trieste.
