Hi

Could somebody explain what a removal order was. John Burman bn Bradford-on-Avon in 1797 was issued with a removal order in Bradford Wiltshire on the 28th February 1826 he was removed to Clifton Gloucestershire with his wife Sarah. I am also looking for the marriage of John Burman to Sarah she possibly came from Devizes.

The information you have found looks correct to me & it is what I have thought for a long time but have never been able to prove anything. It always threw me as I said before why move to Wycombe, & why did Sarah go back to Paddington when people looked after their parents. If it is correct I have Sarah & William's death certificates. Sarah's I bought in 2006 & William's a year later. William died on the 4th December 1842 in St Marylebone Workhouse, aged 42yrs, of Phithisis & was a Labourer. Sarah died on 31st October 1872 in Paddington Workhouse, aged 72yrs, in occupation the certificate says an inmate of the Workhouse a Widow of a Mason, cause of death Rupture of Blood Vessel on Brain Apoplexy. The certificate also states that there was an inquest held on the 5th November 1872. I will put a question on the Bucks Family History Site about the Glenisters & see what comes up. John Butterfield was my 2x Great Grandfather from your name on here you must be descended from George Henry Holt & Alice Butterfield, when George died in Oakridge Road he was living next door to Alice's nephew my Grandfather. If you want to look at my tree & take this a lot further my tree is on Tribal Pages under Lancashire meets Oxon & Bucks contact me through there & I will send a password.

Wow I have been trying to work out that part of my family for 30 years the first pieces about Sarah I knew about. Joseph I had no idea where he went. I must admit I had not put the Sarah Glenister in Ivinghoe with the Glenisters of Wycombe the family was & still is a well known name in Wycombe. Where did you find his brother Joseph, my thought with Joseph either he went to America or Australia. With William bn 1798-1804 I went up to the Bucks Family History Fair at the end of July bought the Ivinghoe parish records CD, there is no baptism for a William Butterfield, there are Butterfields in the parish records. I will have a look for a Sarah Butterfield to see if there is a Baptism pre 1798. It might point to why William turned up in Ivinghoe. The other thought I had was checking out the Canals did William work on them to get from London to Berkhamstead.
Thank you for your help.

I think I can help we are certainly looking at the same people if you go to the Tribal Pages website I have a website on there https//cedric1523.tribalpages.com this should take you to a website called Lancashire meets Oxon & Bucks & contact me through there & I can pass on the password.
As far as I know my Cunliffes all came from Ashton-in Makerfield & Golborne area. A few years ago I transcribed for Lancashire On Line Parish Clerk site & we had a discussion on there & it looks like the name changed from Cundley to Cunliffe for some reason. If you look on the LOPC site before 1837 there are a lot of Cundley's then look at BMD's after 1837. The surname name virtually ceases to exist
& there a lots of Cunliffe's. As far as I can tell my tree is correct going back to about 1781. George died in 1918 in Chorley. Mary Ann four years earlier
