Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I previously noted that marriage to Sarah Chapman and wondered if that was them. It may be that their marriage has not been picked up by genealogy websites or perhaps they just lived together. The Bussell/Chapman marriage is a good possibility, the only trouble is, it is just a possibility. Thanks again, very kind of you to reply.

Hello,
I am trying to find out details of the ancestry of James Saunders Bussell who was born to John and Sarah in Little Gaddesden in 1814. I believe that John and Sarah also had William in Watford in 1802, Elizabeth in Watford in 1805 and Thirza in Ivinghoe in 1817. However, I cannot find John and Sarah's marriage or any info on their ancestors. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Hello. I did come across that record yesterday and checked up on Corinthian Lodge. It met at the Sun, Clement Inn Foregate, the Strand but ceased to exist in 1806. The Corinthian Lodge would not have been a sub-division of the Gothic Lodge, but would have been a lodge of equal standing in its own right - I know this because I used to be a mason!!
Thanks again.

Hello,
Thanks you very much for the replies, very kind of you. I actually had already looked for the Bussell/Berlon marriage on Ancestry but missed it, I must have done something wrong. I have found it now. I found the Mary Berlon baptism record just this morning and wondered about the Humphrey Bussell baptism in Stoke Damerel.
I still don't know why Humphrey and Mary appeared to go to Holland after their marriage, where Peter Berlon Bussell claims to be born, and then returned to Lambeth where the remaining children were born.
Thanks again for all your help. People like you make this site a treat.

Thank you for the further information.I think that Charles Bussell is almost certainly Peter's brother. There is a Charles born to Humphrey and Mary in Lambeth in 1790, followed by 2 siblings Mary Sophia in 1792 and Charlotte Matilda in 1794. As you said, Charles lived in York Street, as did Peter, and Charles was an undertaker, as was Peter. Since Peter said that he was born in Holland in about 1785 it may be that his parents (Humphrey and Mary), had children in Holland in the 1780s but by 1790 had moved to England. Peter has a link to Lambeth in that he was apprenticed there in 1802 to a chairmaker, and was recorded as a carpenter in the 1820s. I cannot find out any details on Humphrey Bussell and his wife. Also I do not know where Peter's middle name of Berlon comes from.
Thanks again.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I have him in the census but cannot identify for certain his ancestors.

Hello,
I am interested in hearing from anyone who is researching the ancestry of PETER BERLON BUSSELL, who was born in Holland in about 1795 but moved to England and was an undertaker for many years in Mile End Old Town. Many thanks.
