Hi all,
I have a fair bit of information on this family's time in Australia, gleaned from the amazing Australian newspaper archives. I'm a descendant via son Charles Edward Bastin's daughter May, who married John Lamont in Winnipeg. Is this thread still active? If so I can share here or email what I have to any interested party.
I'm particularly curious to try and discover what happened to Mary L. Cornish, b. Tavistock, Devon in 1834. She's in the 1911 Canada census in Winnipeg, but not there in 1916; and in fact I can find no further trace of her, neither a death record in Manitoba or British Columbia nor a gravestone (online at least). No one on my side of the family seems to know anecdotally. Any help much appreciated!
