Wow ! I could have saved a lot of hunting, didn't think to look here for the New Zealand family. Thank you so much.  William Allen's wife, Rebecca Forsythe was sister to my great grandmother, Elizabeth, who married Thomas Bruce.  Their son, also Thomas, my grandfather, kept in touch with the New Zealand family and in a letter to my mother in 1957 he says he has heard from Lizzie Allen telling of the death of her sister Meg, and Meg's husband, and that she is now the only one of the family left.  In the early 1950's a John Allen, a doctor came to stay with us in Scotland, and he  and married a Scots girl, Will-Ena Tulloch.  John died in Auckland in 2011.  I am not sure which of the sons of William he was descended from - back to hunting.

Sorry I was in a hurry to send to you, and muddled up the Agnes Elizabeth McGregor with her mother. 
I haven't looked at Scotlands People about this [though done much other research there particularly on earlier Reids] as my information is taken from the family bible of William Reid and Elizabeth Douglas [ie. the son of William and Agnes Robertson.]  But he fills in  all the info on the McGregor family as far as the births of Duncan and Agnes Elizabeth McGregor births,  The info about William Mair is on theback of the photos, and somewhere I must have other info as my grandmother kept in touch with them. And her brother William Reid the third and his wife also. I can vaguely remember hearing talk of Duncan [Dorie]
Hope this clears things up a bit.  It's not of primary interest to me as have loads of other research on the go but as I say I can email copies of the photos easily.

#Agnes Elizabeth Reid or McGregor was my g g aunt. Her parents being William Reid and Agnes Robertson. She was was born at 11 Baker Street Stirling. Her brother was also William Reid. Another borther was John Robertson Reid, who died in 1846. Two other siblings died in infancy.  Her brother William Reid was my grandmother's father, Jessie Reid and she kept in close contact with the McGregors. 
William Mair and Agnes Elizabeth McGregor had no children.
I can give you dates and have quite a number of photos of the family but not sure how to send them to you.

I have come late into this search for the Patersons and maybe you have now got the answers; but
the Peter Paterson you have in Stirling was the son of Alex and Isobel Robertson in Tullibody.  Isobel was the sister of my great great grandmother Agnes Robertson.  Isobel was born in Stirling daughter of John Robertson and Margaret Gillespie, 18th December 1784 and married Alex Paterson in Alloa 9 February 1808.  John Robertson was a leather merchant, which ties in quite nicely with Alex being a tanner.  Can give you more details if you require.
