Lanarkshire / Connolly/Weir late 1800's - mid-early 1900's

I have been looking for information so I can trace my mother's family.  Her father was Peter Connolly who immigrated to the US in 1928/29 (arrived Jan 1, 1929) on the Cameronia.  His mother was Catherine Connolly (Weir), and was listed as living at 94 Alexandra Parade, Glasgow on the ship's manifest. His father's name was Andrew Connolly.  Andrew and Catherine were married July 15, 1892, and on the marriage registrar, their parents and addresses were listed.  Andrew's parents were Henry Connolly and Elizabeth (who remarried I think? And became Bennet, and had been Sloan? or reversed?).  Catherine's parents were John Weir and Susan (who may've been McGrath? It's hard to read the writing).  Henry & Elizabeth lived at 45 Shuttle St, Glasgow in 1892.  John & Susan lived at 49 Duke Street, Glasgow in 1892.  Unfortunately, beyond knowing everything going forward (with Peter), I don't know any other information.  Does anyone know anything? (I have searched what seems endlessly).  I am attaching the marriage registrar image.

Cavan / Re: Joseph LAMBE family 1909, Shercock

That's very interesting, because the other side of my family were Carolans (now spelt Carlin over here) from the same area of Cavan.
My great-grandfather, Thomas Carolan or Carlin, born 1833, left Ireland for Edinburgh in the 1880s with his wife Catherine Connelly or Connolly, and so sooner or later did all their children: Helen, Patrick, Catherine, Andrew (my grandfather), Thomas, Julia, Charles, Margaret and James. Some of these, maybe all, were born in Bailieborough between c. 1858 and 1875, and emigrated to Edinburgh in the 1880s. All except maybe Patrick married in Scotland, and they have descendants now in Scotland, England and the USA. A rather distant cousin has done a lot of research but mostly from the period after the family arrived in Edinburgh.
I haven't so far been able to find any records of my grandfather Andrew's birth in Cavan, nor those of any of his siblings, partly because the names are so common in Cavan that every search is potentially costly on IFHF. If you have any leads from previous generations of your own Carolans that could lead me back beyond this couple, Thomas Carlin and Catherine Connelly, married in the late 1850s, I would be most interested.
Though the Carolans, Lambe and McMahons were near neighbours in Cavan, and most of those who migrated to Edinburgh lived within a quite small area, my parents, so far as I know, were the first Carlin-McMahon union here.

My great grandfather was an Andrew Connolly (his parents Henry and Elizabeth).  Andrew married in 1892, Catherine Weir, in Glasgow, Scotland.  He was 26 and she was 22.  It's so difficult to find info because these names are so common out there, but do you think this would be a relation? I have their marriage form information.  Andrew and Catherine and a son named Peter who immigrated in 1928/29 (he arrived on Jan 1, '29) to the US (then went to Canada).  He was born in 1906.

It looks as if this threat hasn't been replied to in a long while.  I'm looking for information about a possible link.  I was told my grandfather was a Great-something nephew of James'.  His name is Peter Connolly (though they called him Pat).  He was born Sept 21, 1906.  My mother says he was born in Glasgow, though ultimately he ended up in Farmington, Michigan.  He married Helen Renaud, and they had 8 children: Barbara, Timothy, Michael, Patricia, Colleen (My mom), Sheila, Daniel, and Dennis.   Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away October 12, 1988, and my grandmother passed away in November of 2003.  So I can't ask either of them any information.  We have a lot of family from my Grandmother's side in Canada, but I've never really heard of or met any on my Grandfather's side.  I'm having a hard time finding Thomas' and John's family lines.  Anyone have any info??
