No, the book including his biography was published recently:   Bittersweet Goodbye: The Black Barons, the Grays, and the 1948 Negro League World Series.  His chapter will eventually be posted at

The reunion page announcement is referring to the biography for which I am trying to tie up loose ends (by looking into whether the Globe and Mail may tell me something about Luther Franklin Clifford that the Star doesn't). :D

Thanks for pointing me to the two pages in the Star!  I didn't have them in my list to check out.

Hello,
I'm new here, and I have a similar favor to ask.  I'm researching an African-American baseball player, Luther "Shanty" Clifford, who was a popular member of the Brantford Red Sox in the 1950s (though he also played briefly for the Galt Terriers in the same Ontario league).  I'm wondering if there was ever a mini-profile of him in the Globe and Mail.  I do know that his name popped up in the Toronto Star off and on during that decade.  Thanks in advance!
