Hi Military experts
I was wondering if anyone can help me make more sense of my gg. grandfathers military records. I don't believe I am able to post it up as I got it from Ancestry and havent been able to find it anywhere else.
He was born in 1871 in Clare, Ireland (despite his record stating he was a few years younger).
Rank & Regimental Number: Gunner - 281020
Name: Carmody, John
Regiment or corps: RGA Regiment, 109th Coy Guernsey VRIC 5548
Stated on Attestation that he had previously served as RGA but cant read what it said after that.
It mentions his childrens names - well 2/3 John & Mary - he also had a daughter called Teresa but not sure why thats not on there.
It then gives his statement of the service but am unable to decipher most of what it states apart from little bits of what I already know.
Cork RGA - Gunner - 24.8.15
RGA Guernsey posted? - 13.5.17
Discharged K.R. 3GZ. XVI - 5.7.18
If anyone is able to look at it - or if I am able to post some bits of it - I am not too sure but would be greatful on some help on what he may have done.
Thanks,
Mike.
