Hi Dathai
Thanks again for these links. I found the information about Mr Smart earlier this year. It came as a surprise to the family as several members fought in WW1.

An 86 year old family member has given me loads of info on the family from Francis Arthur onwards.

I would really like to go back in time to Francis Arthur's parents Arthur & Brigid and how they are connected to the Omagh area.

Thanks again for all the links

Hi Kingskerswell
Thank you for the information from the Griffitth's Valuation. The first name Francis is used again & again in the Coleton family down the generations. I'd like to think that this Francis Coleton is related but I don't know how to prove it.

An 86 year old family member has given me loads of information on the younger generations of the Coleton's from Francis Arthur onwards.

My difficulty is trying to connect them to the Omagh area of Tyrone.

Are there any Coleton's still in the area? The phone directory suggests not. The surname Coleton wthe the "e" is not common in Ireland.

Dear Dathai,
Thank you so much for your speedy reply. The link to the Sea Mariners website was new information for me. I knew that "uncle Andy" had served in the navy.

I hope that someone might be be able to verify the Coleton family connections to Omagh.
